Jesus Did Not Come For Everyone

"It is not those who are healthy who need a physician,
but those who are sick;
I did not come to call the righteous,
but sinners."
(Mark 2:17)

Many say
Jesus came for everyone.
Men.
Women.
Everyone.

But that is not true.

He Himself said
He did not come to call the healthy,
but the sick;
Not the righteous,
but the unrighteous.

 For those who say “I see”,
He did not come;
But for those aware
of their blindness.

 To the sated
and self-important,
He did not come;
But for those
who hunger for God.

 To those proud of their way,
He did not come;
But for those
who need a Shepherd.

For those who think themselves
“Good enough”,
He did not come;
But for those who beg,
“Be merciful to me, the sinner.”

 Jesus did not come
for everyone.

 Did He come for you?

Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23

Hello, Anonymous. Thanks for the reply but I am confused by it. Perhaps you hit "send" too quickly? All that came across were two references in Romans. Could you clarify what you mean?
Thanks.

I agree with Anonymous, with a couple of exceptions.

Romans 3:10 --There is none righteous, not even one

Romans 3:23 -- for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

I must be asleep. I still don't see the connection to my post. Please elaborate.

I think Anon is saying that we all need Jesus, none of us don't; which is true. I think Jesus calls all of us, and we all need Him; the question is whether we realize we need Him or not.

Ahhh. Now that makes sense. Of course we all need Him. But too many think they don't. Or, they want to continue in their own rebellion, as the Lord said in John 3:19-20. I fell into that category before I finally went to my knees. I wrote about that in my Dec 27 post: http://thecontemplativecatholicconvert.blogspot.com/2012/12/what-if-there-is-god-back-story.html

Thanks for helping clarify.
