Jesus Worried, part one

So, I understand there is a new heresy floating around Christian circles. No, it is not the new heresy of Chrislam promoted by Pope Francis and others in Protestant and Catholic circles. Chrislam, in case you are unaware, is a devious syncretism, a satanic blending of Islam and Christianity.

No, it is not Chrislam, but this ‘new’ heresy is just as sinister.

A friend told me she’s been hearing commercials on (what alleges to be) Christian radio stations which state to their listeners that Jesus had anxiety and worry.

Oh, really? I challenge anyone who has fallen for this lie to provide ONE text of scripture that supports such a damnable lie – one text in context with the surrounding passages, which is then in context with the book in which the passage is found, and also in context with the Testament in which the verse is found, and then in context with the entire Bible.

You will not find it. D’you know why? Because it ain’t there.

But listen to what the Scriptures declare about Jesus: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it . . . 14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:1-5, 14)

I hope you caught that declaration in verse 14. Jesus is the WORD of God incarnate in a body of flesh. And since He is the WORD of God made flesh, then what does the word of God from Genesis through Revelation tell us about worry and fretting and anxiety? Here is only a smattering:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

“You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” (Isaiah 26:3)
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Listen, since Jesus is the very word of God made flesh, and the word of God tells us to not worry or be anxious, then why would be expect the SINLESS Son of God to contradict the word of God?

Why would Jesus tell His disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest?” (Luke 12:22-26)

I can cite HUNDREDS of texts from the word of God just like these, but need I go on? I think not.
Do liars and thieves and children of Satan who tell others that the SINLESS Son of God worried and fretted – do they ignore what Jesus told His disciples, “If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father”? And again, “I and the Father are One” (e.g. One Essence)? (They can look up the references themselves, if they want to know truth).

Listen, since Jesus and the Father are ONE ESSENCE, then when we say Jesus worried and fretted, then we must ALSO say that the Father worries and frets.

Does anyone see how ludicrous that is?

Those who say such things about Jesus do so only to try to reduce down to their puny and insignificant level the utter glory, majesty, authority, and power of the Lord Jesus.

Christian – when false doctrines such as this circulate into your hearing and reading – test them; Test ALL things against the infallible, inerrant, and fully inspired word of God. For, if you do not test them, then you will always be in serious danger of being deceived and seduced by a supernatural enemy who is far smarter than you or I.

As St. Paul cautioned Timothy: “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
